Mary Jane Carpenter Strawn, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away December 22, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mary was born on February 20, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of Frank and Jane (Bell) Carpenter. Mary graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School in 1981 and attended Kirkwood Community College. She retired from Atlantic Bottling Company. Mary was very sociable and truly never met a stranger. Mary and Rick loved traveling around Iowa, seeing sights and attending events. Mary was a member of First Open Bible Church in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her siblings, Lea Arreola of Independence, MO, Kevin (Debbie) Malamphy of Cedar Rapids, and Jenora Malamphy of Cedar Rapids; significant other, Rick Kuda of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Matthew Strawn; brother, Steve Malamphy; stepbrothers, Frank Carpenter Jr. and David Carpenter; sister-in-law, Su Malamphy; and brother-in-law, Manny Arreola.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

I am sorry to hear of Mary's passing. She was a big part of our team at Atlantic Coca-Cola for many years, merchandising for many of our customers. Mary was quick to make friends wherever her assigned route took her. Our prayers and condolences for all.
