IN LOVING MEMORY OF MRS. MARY TAWADROUS
OCTOBER 16, 1934– OCTOBER 18, 2025
"In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8)
Departed to the Paradise of Joy in the hope of Resurrection, Mrs. Mary Tawadrous.
Mary Tawadrous (nee Mathilda Fakhoury Malaty), age 91, of Newtown, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 18, surrounded by loved ones. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Mounir Tawadrous and a cherished mother and grandmother.
Mary was the daughter of Fakhoury Malaty and Fahima Boutros. She grew up in Luxor in a warm, loving Christian family. In her early days in Egypt, she was the epitome of a modern day working woman. Propelled by her father's unwavering encouragement and her love of education, she seized the opportunity to earn her Teacher Certification. She worked as a full time teacher in Cairo while taking care of her four children and extended family. She had multiple talents, including but not limited to designing, creating and tailoring clothing, and also painting, not to mention being an amazing cook and baker.
Mary was guided throughout her life by her strong and never ending Coptic faith. She rose to meet every challenge including making the journey with her four children on her own to join her husband in America. She was a gentle, selfless, caring, patient and endlessly loving person, taking care of multiple family members over the years in her home, without asking for anything in return. "Angel' is the word most often used to describe her. While she had a quiet demeanor, she was the foundation and pillar of the family. At family gatherings, an open door will always be a reminder of her warm smile and words of welcome. Her enduring lessons of kindness, empathy, forgiveness, humility, generosity and unconditional love are reflected in her children and grandchildren.
She will forever live in the hearts of those she left behind and is survived by her brother, Assad, four children Mervet (Ron), Mamdouh (Marsa), Mona (Bill), Margo (Sharif), her 10 cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Alexander, Andrew, Jasmine, John, Monica, Matthew, Luke and Julianne and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Wadie, Zarief, and Antoinette. She leaves a gaping hole in our hearts and souls and will be sorely missed. May God receive her in his loving arms and bless her soul.
