Mary was the sweetest presence in our lives whenever we saw her. We are mourning this loss of your mother along with you. Just to know where she is is a comfort and blessing. Her life has been a testament of the love of Jesus Christ.

To Carrie, Becky, Dan, and Julie: your mom was an important figure in my growing-up years. It is with great fondness that I remember all the piano-organ duets we played at at the Loraine church, and the times I served as her accompanist for cantatas. Whether at a rehearsal, a performance, or in a Sunday School class, she was always a model of comportment. I learned a lot from her about patience, kindness, and equanimity.
I admired her calmness in difficult situations, her empathy, her intelligence (both emotional and intellectual), and her lifelong passion for learning and helping people. I know that you, the rest of her family, her friends, and all of the many people she´s helped throughout her life will greatly miss her smile and calm presence.
