Mary Elizabeth Todd, age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Savannah on March 23, 1946, and had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. Mary will always be remembered for her warm and caring personality. She had an immense love for the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs, making her a dedicated fan of both teams. Mary's unwavering support for her favorite sports teams was admired by all who knew her. Aside from sports, Mary had several hobbies and interests that brought her joy throughout her life. She found solace in gardening, nurturing and tending to her beautiful plants. Additionally, Mary had a creative side and enjoyed expressing herself through various arts and crafts projects. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Atha Wise Phillips; her husband, Jimmy Todd and two brothers, Freddie Phillips and Gene Phillips.
Mary is survived by her children, Eric Garvin of Savannah, Beth Ray (Danny Anderson) of Reidsville, and Harry Garvin of Reidsville, siblings: Billy (Kathy) Phillips of Hollywood, FL; Jerry (Johnnye) Phillips of Lorida, FL; Terry (Deloris) Phillips of Savannah; Donnie (Tammy) Phillips of Savannah; Gary (Paula) Phillips of Charleston, SC; Timmy (Melody) Phillips of Bloomingdale; Sandi (Glenn) Mordan; Denise (Barry) Sanders of Collins; grandchildren, Brandon Ray and Ben Ray both of Glennville, Tiffany(Mike) Anderson of Collins; great grandchildren: Bryson Ray, Benjamin Ray, Colton Ray, Brody Ray, and Harlen Ray all of Glennville; several nieces and nephew
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Brothers Jerome Davis and Bobby Walthour officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Carmel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Ray, Dale Howell, Jason Howell, Scottie Howell., Zac Morgan, and Kristian Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Ray and Ryan Sanders.
Memorials may be given to Gentiva Hospice, 112 Hill Pond Lane, Statesboro, GA 30458
