Mary Tomasulo was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, aunt, friend, and neighbor. She was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, to Joseph and Mary Elliott. She was soon joined by two brothers, Joe and Bob. The boys adored their big sister, but couldn't pronounce her name and called her "Beezy." The name stuck, and Mary Louise remained Beezy to her family for the rest of her life.
Beezy briefly attended Douglas College during the height of World War II. She returned home within a year and started working for Lighthouse for the Blind. Soon after the war, Beezy bought the first television in the neighborhood, to the delight of Joe, Bob and many of the neighbors. She also played the piano and traveled extensively, to Europe, especially England, to Canada, and to Mexico.
She eventually met and married Benjamin Tomasulo. Together they bought the house across from Beezy's childhood home and had a son, Sebastian. Beezy returned to work as an administrative assistant at Bamberger's, where she stayed for many years. As many of her cherished family members grew ill, Beezy was a devoted caretaker. She lovingly nursed her parents, aunt, husband, and most tragically, her adored son through their final illnesses. She was an unflagging nurse for them all.
Throughout this time, she also drew strength and comfort from her deep faith and the dear friends she had through her many decades at St. John's Episcopal Church in Montclair. Her devotion to the church gave her great joy throughout her later years. Beezy was baptized at St. John's and remained a member of the church community for all 98 years of her life.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her many loving nieces and nephews and devoted friends. A special thanks to Mrs. Lorita Jackson, of St. John's, who provided Beezy with solace, comfort, and a fierce advocacy during the last decade of Beezy's life.

I was Mary's care giver for seven years. Mary was a very strong minded bold beautiful lady with a very spunkiness and will to keep going and that's why she lived such a beautiful life. She went threw a hard path but by the power of Christ she kept smiling. On every Birthday id tell her that the reason she's still here on earth is because her husband isn't ready to stop touring the heavens that he's just not ready for her.. Mary always has the last say and she'd have such a laugh. I always enjoyed making her favorite Hungarian paprikash which I loaded up in her freezer.. she never got tired of it. May she rest in peace.. but we all know she's having that waited reunion with her beautiful precious Son, her husband and her siblings, and her dear parents. We so will never forget you Mary..I love you always your caregiver Maria.

Mary was one of my first clients when I moved to NJ from brooklyn and quickly became my favorite. We bonded over a love of V8 & Wired NJ stories. I looked forward to seeing her even when I wasn´t scheduled to work. She was one of the most interesting, caring and genuine people I´ve ever met. I want to thank her niece for allowing us to keep in touch and for facilitating the connection. She touched so many people and always gave me a boost of encouragement and positivity when I needed it. She will truly be missed, it was a pleasure and privilege to know her. My deepest condolences, Thank you so much for sharing her with me. May she rest well!!!

One of my favorite memories of Aunt Beezy was taking her to Busch Gardens and riding the carousel. She was around 80 years old and got stuck getting off the horse. It took a few people to help her down and she laughed the entire time. She had the best sense of humor and she was always up for fun! She will be sorely missed.

My favorite memory of Beezy is long ago, when she was just 80 years old, we all went swimming in the ocean. The waves were rough, but there she was, bobbing up and down in the surf. Of course, getting her back to land was a bit of an effort.
