Mary Carmelita Trentler

Mary Trentler, 91, passed away on January 13, 2026. Born June 28, 1934, she was raised in Highlandtown and later moved to Essex, Maryland, where she raised her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late William Trentler, Sr., whom she married in 1955; he preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Gerleve (2009) and grandson Michael Gerleve (2005).

Mary is survived by her children Mary Kendell (Bob), Joan Trentler (Sue), William Trentler, Jr. (Patty), and Susan Brown; eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Mary was active in the Sodality and enjoyed making flower arrangements.

Visitation will be held at the family-owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, Maryland 21221, on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1704 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex, Maryland 21221, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21224.
