Mary J. (DeBlis) Trincanello, 105, of Short Hills, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 3rd, surrounded by her family.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 11th at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Avenue, Short Hills.
Born and raised in Millburn Township as one of twelve children, Mary spent her entire life in the community she loved. She spent the last 72 years in her Short Hills home, where she raised her two sons and welcomed many family and friends. Nothing brought her more joy than cooking for others. Her table was always open, and she was known for her exceptional Italian meals and the happiness she felt when her home was full.
Mary shared a loving marriage with her husband, Joseph A. "Tony" Trincanello, whose memory she cherished all her life. She began her working life as a talented tailor, gifted in sewing and crocheting. She later enjoyed a long career at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, rising to Manager in Quality Control and forming many lifelong friendships. After retiring, she devoted herself to volunteering at her church, spending time with her brothers and sisters, and caring for the younger generations of her family.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Frank Trincanello and his wife Karla, and Paul Trincanello. She was the beloved grandmother of Anthony Trincanello, Andrea Tuck and her husband Brian, Jamie Trincanello and his wife Renée, and Jessica Griggs and her husband Jeremy. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren who meant the world to her: Francesca, Isabella, Daniel, Elodie, Madelena, Stella, Gwen, and Luca, and by many nieces and nephews who adored her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Trincanello; her daughter-in-law, Maria; and Stephanie, the wife of her grandson, Anthony.
Mary will be remembered for her devotion to family, her kindness, and her warmth and generosity that defined her long and beautiful life.
