Mary Louise Van Ham age 85 of Sand Lake, died Friday, October 10, 2025 at Corewell Health Blodgett Campus. She was born August 13, 1940 in Grand Rapids the daughter of Frank and Ruth (Ritter) Biermann. Mary enjoyed raising her children and cheering them on at all of their events. She worked for the Grand Rapids Police Department for 15 years as a clerk. Mary loved horses, riding with friends and neighbors, going to the casino, playing all card games but especially euchre and watching Hallmark channel Christmas movies with her daughter. She was proud of her rose, strawberry, and blueberry bushes. She liked to sit on her deck and wave at the boats going by whether they could see her or not. Mary was active with the Alpha Chi Master group for 64 years and treasured the closeness with her sorority sisters. Her favorite times were always just being with her family. Surviving are her children, Robert Van Ham, Bill (Donna) Van Ham, Rosemarie (Joe Stump-Goodall) Van Ham; grandson, Frank Van Ham; cat, Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 34 years Keith; sisters, Doris Heany Popowich, Martha Monhaut. The family will greet friends 6:00 – 9:00 pm Thursday, October 16 at the K.E. Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, Oct 17 at Red Pine Bible Church, 17195 Red Pine Dr., Kent City with visitation at 10:00 am. Pastor Rick Miller, officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park, Standale, MI. Memorial contribution in Mary’s name may be made to Red Pine Bible Church.
