She was born September 24, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio daughter of the late William O. and Florence (Adams) Donahue.
Jane was retired from Hills Department Store in Benwood, West Virginia and was a Catholic by faith. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Vasey in 2020; children, Cindy Haswell, David Vasey, Randy Vasey; brothers, William, James, Thomas, Bernard, Gerald, Harold "Buzzy" Donahue; grandchild, Natalie Haswell; great grandchild, Riley Jo Coyne; sister, Dorothy Tedeschi; sisters-in-law, Connie Donahue, Anne Donahue, Genetta Donahue; brothers-in-law, Vince Tedeschi, Richard St. John, Joe Boston, Richard Cope.
Jane is survived by her children, John (Wanda) Vasey of Bellaire, Todd Vasey of St. Clairsville, Kerry (Sandy) Vasey of Shadyside, Glenn (Carolyn) Vasey of St. Clairsville; grandchildren, Troy Haswell of Shadyside, Greg (Susan) Vasey of Moundsville, Eric (Belinda) Vasey of Bellaire, Trey (Cindy) Vasey of St. Clairsville, Mathew Vasey of Bellaire, Heather Brown of Wheeling, Nick (Makayla) Vasey of St. Clairsville, Charlie (Sierra) Patterson of Shadyside, Kenny (Janice) Patterson of Florida, Sheila (Brian) Macalister of Yorkville, Jill (John) Erskin of Columbus, David Vasey Jr., of Columbus, Hannah (Austin) Hollingshead of Beallsville, Laraine (Kyle) Conley of Lexington, Kentucky; brothers, John (Linda) Donahue of Colerain, Richard Donahue of Columbus, Michael (Linda) Donahue of Bellaire; sisters, Paula St John of Bellaire, Sandra Bass of Neffs, Ohio, Cheryl Boston of Bellaire, Elizabeth Cope of Roscoe, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Frances Donahue of Bellaire, Sharon Donahue of Belmont, MeHee Donahue of Wheeling; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Tuesday, October 15 from 10am until 12pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated immediately following visitation at the St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Heusel as Celebrant. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire.

The first time I met Mary Jane "Janie" Vasey was at her home then in Shadyside, Ohio. I immediately liked her and just admired her calm manner and soft voice. Her husband Russell Vasey was my wife's brother, and we all became close over the years. We visited them at their home in Bellaire, Ohio every chance we got and were always welcomed and hosted mightily. We miss them both and pray their souls rest in Heavenly Peace. (Amen)
