Mrs. Mary J. (Dzierga) Vigna, 82, of 14 Haggerty St., Adams, died Tuesday evening, July 7, 2009 at Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield. She was born in Adams on September 5, 1926, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Gabiga) Dzierga. She attended schools in Adams. Mrs. Vigna worked for many years as a seamstress for the former Waverly Fabrics, Adams, until her retirement. Earlier she had worked for the former Sprague Electric Co., North Adams. She was a communicant of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Rosary Sodality, Adams. Mary loved to sing and spend time with her family. Her husband Anthony Vigna, whom she married on October 14, 1950, died on February 4, 2006. She is survived by; 1 Daughter - Patricia M. LaFrance and her husband Kerry of Adams; 3 Sons - Michael A. Vigna of Adams, Anthony G. Vigna and his wife Debbie of Pittsfield, and Dr. Paul A. Vigna and his wife Judi of Plymouth; 1 Brother - Stanley Dzierga and his wife Frances of Adams; 1 Sister - Helen Kurpaska of Adams; 7 Grandchildren -Christopher and Sarah LaFrance, Anthony, Thomas, and Amanda Vigna, and Caroline and Luke Vigna, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 Brothers, Frank and Joseph Dzierga, and by 2 sisters, Cecelia Wiater and Josephine Sikorski. The funeral will be on Friday, July 10th, at 1:30PM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 2:00PM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 12:30PM until 1:30PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Kanty Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
