Mrs. Walker, age 88 and formerly of Meridian, passed away November 17 in Winchester, TN.
Mary Jane was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved Jesus and studied the scriptures daily with an emphasis on prophesy and end times. She loved art and was a portrait artist, as well as proficient with oil paintings and sketching. Mary Jane loved people and always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved all kinds of animals and plants and spent a lot of time gardening. She loved to sing and did so every chance she got until the day she died. Mary Jane was a Daddy's girl and loved her Father, Willard Harvey, deeply. She lived next to, and took care of, her mother, Mille Sue Brown-Harvey, until she moved to a nursing home and passed away. Mary Jane and her sister, Betty, spent their early years traveling the United States with their parents while their Father worked in construction building bridges across this nation. She settled in Collinsville during her high school years and met her husband, Wallace, there. She was a member of Antioch Southern Methodist Church in Martin, MS for many years. She was especially close to her sister, Betty Jo Harvey-Shadow. Mary Jane lived her final years in Tullahoma, Tennessee with Betty, and attended church with her while she was able to. She lived her last years in Elk River Nursing Home in Winchester, Tennessee until she passed. Everyone in the nursing home said she was a joy and will miss her greatly. Mary Jane was loved by her family and we will miss her, but are certain she is happy in the arms of Jesus, singing and worshipping at the throne!
Mary Jane is survived by her daughters, Suzie Jane Smith, Jo Elizabeth Jethro (Paul) and Mary Ann Walker; granddaughters, Kerri Smith and Laura Rose Thompson, and grandson, Trea Barham; great-grandson, Aidan Smith and great-granddaughter, Ava Smith; sister, Betty Jo Shadow; nephews, Kevin Neal Shadow and Timothy Scott Shadow; niece, Emily Joann Shadow Page.
