Mary Ann was a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church, where she volunteered her time generously. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her husband and four sons. She was active with the Mishawaka High School Alumni Association and spent many years planning class reunions. In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoyed traveling with Carl. They spent their summers in Wyoming and their winters in Texas. She also liked to hunt for mushrooms and petrified wood. Mary Ann was talented and creative, and she enjoyed sewing, crochet, macrame, and making Christmas crafts. Her father owned a bakery, and by watching him she became an excellent baker herself.
Mary Ann loved movies. She kept a log of every film she watched and wrote her own critique, always ready to recommend a good one to anyone who asked. In her younger years, she worked as Secretary to the Director of Personnel at Studebaker in South Bend. Later, she helped at her husband’s business, Weber Electric, serving as bookkeeper and handling invoicing.
Her time at Primrose was special. She was loved by the staff and by the other residents. Many of the staff fondly called her “Grandma” because of the warmth and friendship she shared with them. The Weber family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Primrose Retirement Community for the care and support they gave Mary Ann over the last four and a half years.
In her memory, donations may be given to St. Monica Catholic Church.
