Mary A. Welsh, 95 1930-2025 

Peabody - Mary A. Welsh, age 95, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at Brooksby Village in Peabody. She was born to the late Walter and Flora (Hennigar) Croft and was predeceased by her husband John J. Welsh who passed away in 1995. 

Mary was raised in Lynn, MA and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. Mary went on to become a bookkeeper for both Union Hospital in Lynn and then to the B&E Paint and Wallpaper store in Lynn, MA

Mary later retired to travel with her husband and spend time doing what she enjoyed most. Mary enjoyed her gardening, her needlepoint and knitting for her grandchildren. At 75, Mary moved into Brooksby Village in Peabody where she made quick friends and enjoyed dinners out and walking her dog, Emma. 

Mary is survived by her three children, Thomas Welsh and wife Deb of Barre VT, Patricia (Welsh) Sampson and husband Jim of Wells ME and Robert Welsh and wife Kathy of Wells ME. Mary also leaves seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. 

Mary is survived by one sister, Irene (Croft) Kingsley of Great Falls, MT. 

Mary was predeceased by her sister, Verna (Croft) Lynch, brother Robert Croft and brother David Croft. 

Memorial services in celebration of Mary’s life will be held privately by the family. 

Mary’s favorite charities included Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem MA, Care Dimensions in Danvers, MA and The Salvation Army.
