Mary Patricia Whittington, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Warren Watson Tripp and Mary Pearl Moore Tripp on May 26, 1941.

Pat, as she was affectionately known, lived with an infectious passion that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Whether through her kindness, her laughter, or her boundless energy, she made every moment count. A true homemaker at heart, Pat was deeply committed to her family and took great pride in creating a nurturing home. Her devotion to her loved ones was unwavering, and she was a constant source of support and joy for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A woman of many talents, Pat enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her joy and allowed her to share her skills with others. She was an avid cook and had a gift for sewing and gardening. Pat also loved playing cards, participating in the booster club, and enjoying the simpler pleasures of life, including mullet fishing.

Pat's hardworking spirit was evident in every aspect of her life, especially in her partnership with her husband as they worked side by side to establish their cattle farm. She was a former member of the Georgia Cattleman's Association, where her dedication to the agricultural community was felt by all who worked with her. In addition to her work on the farm, Pat was also a skilled cosmetologist, a profession she pursued with great passion and pride.

She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, joy, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear will continue to inspire all who remember her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Whittington; son, James Van Whittington; brothers, Marion John Tripp, and Harold Warren Tripp and an infant brother.

Pat is survived by her sons, Andrew Edward Whittington and wife Elizabeth of Tallahassee and David Warren Whittington and wife Page of Sugarland, TX; daughter Susan W. Rankin and husband Tommy of Tifton; grandchildren Andrew Clark Whittington, Ashley Marie Armstrong, Samantha Susan Whittington, and Amanda Pearl Whittington; great-grandchildren Jayda Lynn Whittington, Noah Van Whittington, Adalyn Claire Whittington, Andrew Chase Whittington, Madalyn Grace Armstrong, and Liam James Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.
