Mary Sue (Jeanes) Ziba was born November 7, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Richard and Virginia Swain Jeanes and passed away May 16, 2026 in Oklahoma City.
She grew up in
Caldwell, KS until the age of 13, when her mother married Gerald Moore of
Americus, KS. She graduated from Americus High School in 1959 and then attended Washburn University in Topeka for two years.
On February 28, 1966, she married Edward Ziba at the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. They lived northwest of
Medford, OK, where they farmed and raised their four children-Tammy Sue, Sean Douglas, Robert Eugene, and Richard Shane. After Ed's death in 1975, Mary Sue and her children moved to Medford. She was very active in the Medford Methodist Church, sold insurance, and she and her best friend, Lynn Hula, owned and operated the Mobile Food Hut.
After her youngest, Richard, graduated from high school, Mary Sue moved to Oklahoma City. She was active in the Mayfair Heights United Methodist Church and worked for The Oklahoman. She volunteered for many worthy causes – Big Sisters, Neighborhood Service Organization, Provide-a-Ride, Carolyn Williams Home, Pet Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels.
Mary Sue is survived by her four children, Tammy Zeman of OKC, Sean of El Reno, Rob of OKC, and Richard (Stacey) of Owasso; grandchildren, Brian Zeman of OKC, Derek Zeman and Kelly (Tina) Zeman of Pond Creek, Matt Zeman of OKC, Zachary (Alexandra) Ziba and children Anibelle and Jack of
Ft. Worth, TX, Maegan Ziba of Alaska, Garrett, Gracey, and Jeremiah Ziba of
Owasso, OK; brothers, Jerry Moore of Lee's Summit, MO, and Blaine Moore (Hank Birkner) of OKC; sister-in-law, Jan Farmer of
Oakley, KS; cousin, Kent (Carol) Terrell and daughter, Sheri (Jason) Gladden and son, Trey (Kim) Baxter and daughters, Sydney and Brooke of
Carrollton, TX; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Susan Swain; parents, Richard Jeanes and Virginia Moore; step-father, Gerald Moore; husband, Ed Ziba; grandson, Bryce Ziba; and brother, Larry Farmer.
A memorial service will be held at Mayfair Heights Methodist Church in Oklahoma City on Saturday, May 30 at 11:00am and a graveside service will be held at the
Caldwell, KS, Cemetery on Sunday, May 31 at 1:00pm.
At 2:00pm after the graveside service, the family will be at Sugar Sisters (20 S. Main St.) in Caldwell and invite friends to come by and visit.
