MaryAnn Chant Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Segal Funeral Home - Beth David Chapel - Tampa on Oct. 4, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of MaryAnn Chant, beloved mother, cherished daughter, caring sister, devoted aunt, and loyal friend, who left us peacefully on June 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
MaryAnn is survived by her loving sons, Terence Chant Jr. and Brian Chant (Andrew Henderson), her beloved parents, MaryAnn and Emil Richard Schwerdtmann Jr., and her dear siblings, Barbara Cooke (Theodore), Emil Richard Schwerdtmann III (Angela), Patricia Cothron (Randy), and Connie and Jeffrey Lilly. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, and is preceded in passing by her nephew, Emil Richard Schwerdtmann IV (Scooter).
In her youth, MaryAnn was a gifted athlete and the star pitcher of all her town softball teams-a role she embraced with passion and pride. She also dedicated many years of her career to the healthcare field, working in administration. Her strong attention to detail, compassion, and professionalism made her a trusted and valued presence in the workplace.
MaryAnn had a lifelong love for animals, as she cared for many beloved dogs throughout her life. She especially adored her two horses: Jones, who preceded her in passing, and Sunny, who continues to be cared for with love.
MaryAnn will be remembered not only for her kindness and incredible work ethic, but also for her quick wit, intelligence, sweet nature, and sense of humor. She had a spark of sass and playful spirit that brought laughter and light to those she was around. MaryAnn will be deeply missed, as her beautiful memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
