MaryAnn E. Encarnacao, age 90, of Wakefield, peacefully passed away at her home on November 18, 2025. Born at the family home in Wakefield on January 10, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of the late Julio and Olivia (Sousa) Encarnacao.

A lifelong resident of Wakefield, MaryAnn had a profound love for gardening, taking great pride in her yard where she lovingly planted pink super wave flowers beneath the statue of the Blessed Mother. She also cherished the spirit of the holidays, especially Christmas, a time when she delighted in decorating her home and preparing a beautiful tablescape for her family gatherings.

MaryAnn looked forward to an annual trip to Gloucester to savor lobster rolls. She also had a sweet tooth and enjoyed indulging in sundaes from local ice cream shops. MaryAnn’s home life, in earlier years, was enriched by her two German Shepherds, Major and Princess, who were cherished companions.

MaryAnn is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Encarnacao) Waisnor of Wakefield, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her eight brothers: Anthony Montrond, Manuel, Julio, Arthur, Richard, John, Robert, and Charles Encarnacao, as well as her two sisters, Ann Custodio and Mae De Cruz.

A Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 12 PM. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10 AM to 12 PM. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.

In honor of MaryAnn's memory, memorial contributions may be made to The Encarnacao Family Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made payable to The Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, Inc. with the memo “The Encarnacao Family Fund” and mailed to P.O.
