Maryann Lisa, 85, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Carl B. Lisa, Sr., Esq., with whom she shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Madeline (Olive) Gazerro, and the mother of the late David John Lisa.
Maryann dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends.
A woman of deep faith, she was a faithful Catholic and longtime communicant of St. Philip Church where she frequently participated in Rosary Groups and Perpetual Adoration. She also loved dedicating her time to volunteer work. Maryann spent many years at the former Zambarano Hospital in Burrillville and Hasbro Children’s Hospital working with cancer patients.
She was the Co-Founder of the Carl B. Lisa and Maryann Lisa Family Charity which provides funds for numerous charitable organizations.
Maryann was an avid golfer and long time member of Kirkbrae Country Club, where she won numerous club and RIGA tournaments.
Some of Maryann’s other hobbies, along with defeating her husband at golf, were cooking, baking, playing bridge with her girlfriends and knitting sweaters for her family. She also cherished traveling to her home in Florida and spending time at the beach. Her love of laughter and a good joke will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her cherished children, Renee Lisa and Carl B. Lisa, Jr., Esq., her brother, John Gazerro and wife Arleen; 9 treasured grandchildren, Gianna Ahnrud and her husband Eric, Marissa, Rebecca and Teresa Prata, and Stephanie, Allen, Douglas, Kevin and Sarah Lisa; and her two precious great-grandchildren, Bria and Luca Ahnrud. She also leaves behind many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Maryann’s funeral will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 8:45 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maryann’s memory may be made to the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association of Rhode Island.
