St George, UT-With deep sadness and heartfelt gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, MaryAnn Rosenbruch, who peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on January 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. MaryAnn was 81 years old at the time of her passing.
Born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on May 25, 1943, MaryAnn's life was a testament to strength, faith, and love. Growing up in the rural beauty of Idaho, she developed a lifelong love for animals-none more cherished than her horse, who once followed her into the house, a moment she fondly recalled for many years.
MaryAnn's adventurous spirit led her to many accomplishments throughout her life. As a young adult, she pursued a career in modeling in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she learned the elegance of fashion, poise, and grace. Her early experiences, including working in her family's motel in St. George, Utah, taught her the values of hard work, service, and the importance of family, which she later used to devote herself to creating a loving, close-knit home for her own children.
March 17, 1962, MaryAnn married the love of her life, Jimmie C. Rosenbruch, who not only became her eternal partner but also introduced her to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Two weeks before their wedding, Jimmie baptized MaryAnn, marking the beginning of their lifelong journey of faith. The couple was sealed in the St. George Temple one year later, and together they shared a marriage of more than 62 years of love, service, and adventure.
Their early years were marked by significant moves - first to Cedar City, Utah, then to Elko, Nevada, and finally to Alaska. In February 1967, they packed up everything they owned in their mobile home, including their two young girls, Michelle at 3 1/2 years old and Andrea at 11 months, where Jimmie worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Settling in Alaska, they embarked on a new chapter, where they built their life and business. Their time in Alaska was filled with hard work and joy, as they pioneered boat-based hunting adventures, an endeavor that brought them closer together and enriched their lives.
MaryAnn's resilience and determination were evident in many of her accomplishments. She was the first female master guide in Alaska, a monumental achievement for which she was incredibly proud. MaryAnn and Jimmie shared their passion for the outdoors and hunting with the world and the St. George community by establishing the Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum in St. George, Utah.
Her love for the outdoors and commitment to serving others extends to her faith. MaryAnn and Jimmie had the privilege of serving in many capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including hosting Senior Brethren aboard their boat in Alaska. They also served together on a senior service mission, an experience MaryAnn cherished deeply.
Throughout her life, MaryAnn faced numerous health challenges, including a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Despite these struggles, she remained a pillar of strength, always facing each trial with unwavering faith and a positive outlook.
MaryAnn is survived by her loving husband, Jimmie C. Rosenbruch, St. George, UT., their five children: Michelle Wenzel (Keith) in Florida, Andrea Ashley (Dave) in California, Jimmie L. "Bud" Rosenbruch (Jackie) in Alaska, Angie Hammer (Dustin) in Santa Clara, UT, and Alisha Decker (Zach) in Alaska. MaryAnn has 9 grandsons, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind a large circle of dear friends from all her world travels. MaryAnn received care at Spring Gardens in St. George, Utah, and she formed meaningful friendships with the staff and residents there, including CJ Nobis, as well as the friendship and caregiving of Arlynn Kemp and Jennifer Hall.
MaryAnn's legacy of love, faith, hard work, and service will live on in the countless lives she touched. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a faithful friend, and a woman whose faith in God and dedication to her family were the cornerstones of her life.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff Street, St George, UT. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Spilsbury Mortuary. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment will be in the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
