Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory - Douglas Chapel on Feb. 17, 2026.

Maryanne Eva Martin, 78, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026. She was born on February 1, 1948, the daughter of the late Edgar Yoxtheimer and the late Mattie Bell Yoxtheimer.

Maryanne dedicated over 40 years of her life to the noble profession of healthcare, serving as a compassionate and devoted Healthcare Giver and Nurses Assistant. Her gentle spirit and caring nature left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A woman of deep faith, Maryanne was actively involved in her church and devoted her time to serving others. She participated in Meals on Wheels for many years, offering nourishment not just in meals, but in kindness and companionship. Her commitment to helping the community also extended to her volunteer work with Special Olympics, where she championed the spirit of inclusivity and joy.

Maryanne had a remarkable passion for arts and crafts, often finding joy and relaxation in creating beautiful pieces that brought happiness to those around her. She was a loving and family-oriented person who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her fondness for her dogs revealed her gentle disposition, as she connected deeply with the furry companions that brightened her life.

She loved shopping and going for coffee with her daughter Christine. She was well-known for her warm smile and her loving, kind nature, traits that resonated throughout her life and endeared her to many.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Wayne Martin who fondly called her “Red”; daughters, Christine Martin of Douglasville, GA and Kathleen Martin of Columbus, GA; and sister, Kathleen Leonard of Cain, PA.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.

Her legacy of compassion, community service, and love will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Maryanne will be dearly missed, leaving behind a community that is richer for her contributions and a family that holds her memory close to their hearts.
