Marydel "Mickey" Brewer, 89, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026 at her home in Owensboro, Kentucky. The Missouri native was born to the late John and Cordula Wekenborg. After marrying and starting a family, Mickey moved from Missouri to Kentucky in 1970, settling in Owensboro in 1972.

Mickey was a long-time member of Immaculate Parish, where she was involved in various ministries and groups, including Feisty 50s, Crochet Club, Saint Vincent de Paul, bereavement committee, and many others. In addition to her Catholic church and prayer life, Mickey enjoyed canasta, solitaire, puzzles of all kinds, and traveling. After her husband retired, Mickey organized several bus trips to many different destinations.

Along with her parents and her siblings, Mickey is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ben Brewer.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia (David) Sublett, Laura (John) Medley, and Linda (Ken) Keller; six grandchildren, Alexander Sublett, Aaron Medley, Evan Medley, Benjamin (Mary) Keller, Danielle Keller, and Michael Keller; one great-grandchild, Leon Medley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Immaculate Church with Father Larry McBride and Father John Vaughn officiating. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be on from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Immaculate Church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of charitable contributions to Immaculate Saint Vincent de Paul or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.
