Mason Douglas Dearing, 61, of Congerville passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at his residence.
He was born on December 15, 1961 in Havana, IL a son of Melvin Dale and Elizabeth Childers Dearing.
Survivors include one son, Chris Dearing of Congerville; one daughter, Catie Dearing of Fort Collins, CO; three brothers, Kevin (Margaret) Dearing of Peoria, IL; Chris Dearing of Mexico City, FL; Robin (Ericka) Dearing of Morton; one sister, Dawn Dearing of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Dearing.
Mason was in the United States Army for over 30 years serving as a maintenance technician. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He obtained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4.
He played sports at Limestone High School and Spoon River College.
He loved serving his country and his family.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation will be accorded. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family.
