APPLEGATE- Mason A. Gorman, age 18, of Applegate, passed away very unexpectedly in a tragic automobile accident on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Texas where he had taken up residence for employment about three months ago.
He was born on October 26, 2004 in Port Huron, the son of Angela Sweet and Adam Gorman.
Mason was taken from all that loved him way too soon. He had so much life to live yet. He loved his family and friends dearly and loved spending time with them.
He graduated from Carsonville-Port Sanilac High School in 2022. He loved playing sports, cornhole, hunting and was planning on coming home in the near future to purchase that new truck he had been saving for. He was a hardworking young man.
Mason was caring, kind, respectful, and would help you out whenever you needed it. He had a heart of gold and was the kind of person that could make friends almost instantly and had many of them.
He is survived by his parents, his younger brother Miguel Martinez, his devoted Grandparents Julie Sweet and Alan Barr, his Grandfather Daniel Sweet, his Grandmother Sue Taylor, his Great-Grandparents, Bill and Marion Burgess, Thomas and Judy Schmalz, and Raymond and Judy Barr, his Uncle Morgan Sweet, Aunt Teresa and Uncle Adam Badgley along with cousins Lexie, Payton, and Riley Badgley, and many more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandma Donna Dorsch, Great-Grandfather Durrell Sweet, and three Great Aunts Debbie, Dana, and Dawn Sweet.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 P.M. on Tuesday, May 9 at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Carsonville.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with visiting from 10-11 A.M. Rev. Jerry Griggs of the McGregor United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mason may be made to the Carsonville-Port Sanilac Schools.
