Master Sergeant Barry W. Kratzer

Barry's talent and discipline as a craftsman was phenomenal. A mandolin by Barry rings with lovely tone, and also shines with beauty from features like the satin finish, inlay detail, rich carving including the signature chicken foot back carving of KG instruments, and so many other details that create a lovely playing experience. Barry inspired many musicians in picking circles, driven by his love of bluegrass. Big love to you, Barry. Much love to Sabine, friends, and family.

Barry was a great friend and he will be very badly missed by me and our family. Praying for comfort for his family during this difficult time. Attached is a picture of Barry with the Reso guitar he finished building for me in August of 2021.
