Mathias M. Haglund

Mathias M. Haglund, 88, of Moore Twp., passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn Haglund (Henriksen) to whom he was married to just shy of 63 years. Born in Grimstad, Norway. Mathias was a son of the late Andreas Mollo and Agnes Haglund (Kristiansen).

He was a devoted member of Slate Belt Church in Pen Argyl and previously served as pastor of what is now Building on the Rock in Manchester, NJ, as well as the former Salem Gospel Tabernacle in Brooklyn, NY. A proud member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he had a lifelong love for boats and all things related to the ocean.

Gifted in many trades, he enjoyed woodworking, reading, skiing, and could fix just about anything-earning a reputation as the family's all-around handyman. Known for his warm and outgoing personality, his family fondly shared that "a stranger was just a friend he hadn't met yet."

In addition to his wife, he will be dearly missed by his children: Christine Haglund of Moore Twp. Karin Newell (Bruce) of Bushkill Twp., and Steven Haglund (Pamela) of Ocean County, NJ; grandchildren: Samuel Haglund, Shellie Boyle (Ryan), Kristina Newell, Emily Newell and Kevin Newell.
