Mathur Srinivasan Kannan

Kannan, Mathur S. Age 78, of Prior Lake Minnesota passed away January 4th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother, and his wife of 43 years. "Kannan", was born in Tamil Nadu, India, on July 31st, 1945. He received his Master's Degree, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and PhD. He married Lakshmi Menon in 1974 and immigrated to Canada, and eventually Minnesota. He worked for the University of Minnesota as a professor, and retired in 2018 with Professor Emeritus status. He enjoyed travel, cooking, talking politics and investing, and spending time with many dear friends and his family. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and "favorite uncle". He is survived by his daughter, Monisha (Justin) Husom, and grandchildren Xavier and Priya Husom, one sister and two brothers, and countless nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at the Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Edina (5000 W 50th St & HWY 100), Sunday January 14, 12pm Visitation followed by 1pm service.
