Matthew David Alexander, known as Matt, was born on January 4, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 54.
Matt dedicated his life to teaching, impacting the lives of countless colleagues with his selfless nature and care for others. He was a person who always put the needs of those around him before his own, and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.
In his personal life, Matt had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He was passionate about collecting skulls and devoted much love to his pets, Kyra and Zoie. He really enjoyed watching movies and playing video games. An advocate of fitness, he also dedicated time to lifting weights and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
He is survived by his father, Allen Alexander, his brother, John Paul (Tracey) Alexander, uncle, David Shiltz, and his cousins, Jenny, Kristina, Kaylee, Courtney, and Colin. Matt is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Alexander.
Visitation for Matt will take place on April 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM. Both services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, Ohio, 43231.
