Matthew was born on October 26, 1984, in Amarillo, Texas, to Bobby Nixon Brooks and Kimberly Choate Stevens, and passed from this life on May 25, 2025, in Houston, Texas.
Matthew proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He worked as a roughneck in the oilfield.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kaitlyn Jean Brooks; father, Bobby Brooks; mother, Kim Stevens; stepfather, Tim Stevens; siblings, Michelle Bass, Jeffrey Wilkinson, Thomas Brooks, Austin Brooks, Alexandra Elder, Kamille Brooks, Kade Brooks, Taylor Stevens, and Brady Stevens
He was preceded in death by his sister, Stephanie Brooks; his grandparents, George and Virginia Choates, and Edward and Mary Brooks.
Pallbearers will be William Self, Jarrod Brooks, Jeffrey Wilkinson, Jackson Moore, Thomas Brooks, and Andrew Bass.
