I just tried to connect with Matt as I do every Marathon weekend and he didn´t reply . I was concerned. Never expected this. Matt was a great co worker friend supporter . He treated me to some wonderful good times . Most memorable was. Boston Garden Madonna concert . Loved him.

So sorry to hear of Matt´s passing he was a phenomenal guy. My earliest remembrances contain the Carpenter family as we lived next door and parents were friends. I´m sure you will find comfort in knowing where Matt resides.
Warm regards

Condolences to Matt's family. I was fortunate to connect with Matt at John Hancock and the Boston marathon for several years. Like he was for so many, he was a great colleague, mentor, and more importantly a friend. Always a smile and positive attitude. A true champion of positive culture at work and in the community. Matt made a difference for so many and will be truly missed. His spirit will live on because of the positive influence he had on me and so many others.

Sending love and support to Matt's family and loved ones. He was such a warm presence and a welcoming leader on the B.A.A. volunteer team. The marathon won't be the same without him!

My wife Laurie and I worked with Matt for many years at John Hancock. My earliest memories of him stretch back to the beginning of my career when I was in the field at our Virginia office and Matt was "the cool Home Office guy" that we would connect with in Boston. Once I moved up here and joined the team Matt welcomed me and always shared an insight or a funny anecdote to start a conversation. He conveyed warmth and I will always remember that about him... it was true in 2005 and was the same way when we last saw him in the grocery store just a few years ago. I sit in prayer for his family and friends and thank God for the impact he made on people while he was

I worked with Matt at John Hancock and we formed a bond once I knew his affiliation and dedication to the BAA. As a runner I know how much time and energy he spent in support of the elite runners and the Boston Marathon. We often laughed to that the good "stuff" he gave out the elite runners was all gone before my turtle pace passed his tables.
Matt loved his family, Boston, BAA and John Hancock. He welcomed me to JH as a younger guy and was a great mentor. When we traveled together we had a blast. Godspeed my friend and your next race will be the best one yet!

Always appreciated having Matt working on events. He was so kind and appreciative of working with all of us. He was a member of the DMSE family that spent a lot of time together. Just a couple of days before he passed, he was at our annual meeting and pulled me aside to say he was excited to keep working on the Boston Marathon until he was 80! We´ll miss you Matt but will keep your memory alive!

Matt was a great friend. Went to many Pats games and Bruins games together. More recently we shared season tickets to the Pats. Always brought a wealth of facts and info about each game. Plus we all loved dancing with the tunes especially Jesse! Love ya Matt! God speed and you will be missed...
