Matthew Joseph Carten, age 55, sadly passed away September 12, 2023. Mathew grew up in Muskegon, MI where he graduated from Mona Shores High School. Matt worked hard all his life and loved the more rural lifestyle he had since his move to Holton. He really enjoyed being outdoors and particularly loved going out riding in his Ranger. Mathew was taken far to soon after a short illness and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Matthew was predeceased by his parents Cary Edward and Yvonne Anne Carten. He is survived by: Jessica Carten (Ricky Minaker) - daughter, Zachary (Rachel) Carten-son, Karen (Brian) McGrady- sister, 7 grandchildren, a niece as well as many cousins and friends.
Matthew was a private person and we are respecting his wishes of a private viewing and cremation.

Although we never had the opportunity of meeting each other I would like to first start by saying it would have been an honor to meet you.I have heard many good things about you and I want you to know that Everytime I speak to your daughter I get to see a piece of you more and more.You are a great man and will be truly missed and never forgotten.Enjoy heaven and get the ranger ready cause I want to go for a ride...love your son in law....RICKY MINAKER
