Noelle, I am very sorry to hear about Matt's passing...Matt served with my older brother Edward in Grenada & Beirut, where we lost Eddie.. Matt was the first Marine i had contact with since Beirut, he shared many stories with me about that time.. I remember he said to me, "Your brother didn't know how to sew ! I sewed his American flags on his BDU's" Matt talked to my mother twice and it was like medicine to my mom.. thank you so much Matt for your friendship over the many years and for your Military service.. you will be greatly missed by me..

Very saddened to hear the news about Matt´s passing. I served with him during the first mission into Beirut. We were so young back then!

And though I only new Matt for this brief period in his life I remember his face and will continue to keep this memory... I am grateful that our paths crossed along this journey of life! RIP brother, I´ll see you on the other side.

Noelle and family. I am so sorry to hear about Matt´s passing. I just informed mom. We think about Matt all the time wish I could have met him. I know mom always enjoyed talking to him. I just have no words. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Today I was just informed that my 2/8 Wpns. Company Dragons Plt. fellow Marine, Matt Collins that I served with in Grenada & Beirut died. Matt served in Beirut 2 combat tours and was a true inspiration to me and many young Marines in 1983 when I joined 2/8 Blt. Be at peace Matt and thank you so much for your honorable service to our great American Nation and to the US Marine Corps. You will not be forgotten. I feel very blessed to have been his friend a true hero for sure I worked almost every day with matt for 16 years he loved his family and was a super good guy loved life ill miss him our prayers go out to his wife and boys we lost a good one

I remember Matt from growing up in Indian Hills. My brother, Kevin, was the same age as Matt. My sister and Deborah were friends. Joe punched me in the nose! Madeleine was sweet on Chucky! Most football games were played in our yard. Sorry for your loss!
