Matthew B. Cusack, age 57, passed into God's loving arms with his family by his side on Jan 5th, 2026. Cherished husband for 35 years to Melissa (nee Berg). Loving father of Catherine (Randy) Gerhard, Colleen Lazarus, Sean and Patrick Cusack. Adoring "Pop Pop" of Ellie. Son of the late Bernard and Julianna Cusack. Brother of William (Therese) and Daniel (Patricia) Cusack. Son-in-law of Richard and Barbara Berg. Brother-in-law of Peter (Mayen) Berg, Aaron (Stefani) Berg , and Charles (Melissa) Henry. Uncle of Michael (Amanda), David (Annie), Maggie, Rory and Kendrick.
Matt was a member of Local #399 for 33 years. Assistant Director of Illinois Institute of Technology and Director of Engineering for Chicago Public Schools. Matt leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the people he inspired and mentored.
