It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew "Scott" Davis on March 29, 2025.

Scott was born in Fredericksburg, VA, to James B. "JB" and Lily Dickinson Davis, on January 18, 1965. Scott's parents predeceased him.

Scott was a faithful and loyal husband, proud and loving father, devoted brother, and a steadfast friend. Scott was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a die-hard New England Patriots fan (as he would say, "even when they were losers"), and loved the Baltimore Orioles and the Cincinnati Reds. He was also a lifelong NASCAR fan. When he wasn't watching sports, you would find him watching Western shows.

Scott is survived by his wife, Glenda Mastin Davis; daughter, Anna Marie Davis; and son, Andrew James Davis (Payton Hendrick). Also left to mourn his passing are Scott's three ever-faithful sisters and their spouses, Allison Mastin (Tyke), Stephanie Mastin (Jimmy), and Wendy Perry (Jonathan). Scott is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved as if they were his own children. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends that he called "brothers," as well as his constant garage companion, Maximus.

A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The family welcomes anyone that wishes to share memories of Scott to please do so.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warriors, Scott's favorite charities.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge and thank the staff of Spotsylvania Regional Hospital and the Select Specialty Hospital in Richmond, VA, for the outstanding care they provided to Scott and our family during his stays. We would also like to thank those that have reached out to us by phone calls, texts, and visits. The outpouring of support during this time is overwhelming and very much appreciated.

May the "Bull of the Woods" rest in eternal peace.
