Matthew Dwenger Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 14, 2024.
We humbly pay our respects to the departed soul of Matthew Joseph Dwenger, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who at the age of 41 years, entered into eternal rest on the 4th of April, 2024, in Durham, North Carolina.

Matthew's life was a testament to the enduring values of faith, humility, and a profound reverence for the intricate tapestry of God's creation. Guided by the light of the Gospel, he walked a path of quiet devotion, cherishing the sacredness of life and the fellowship of his community. The loss of his mother drew him ever closer to the divine, seeking solace and understanding in the words of Scripture and the embrace of the Almighty.

In his final days on this earth, Matthew's steadfast belief in the promise of redemption and eternal life offered comfort and a shining example to all who knew him. His spirit, anchored in the hope of Christ's love, was a beacon of peace and steadfastness amidst the trials of life.

He is survived and fondly remembered by his sisters, Ginny Kent, in holy matrimony with Unjane Kent, and Amanda Hamilton, in holy matrimony with Don Hamilton; his doting nieces, Gia Kent, Arianna McFarlin, in blessed union with Kiontay McFarlin, and Jada Were, in blessed union with Ivan Were; his dear Camellia Hyman, in blessed union with Joseph Hyman; and his nephew, Darius Hamilton. Matthew is preceded in passing by his mother, Anna L. Dwenger, and his father, Moses L. Johnson.

As we commit Matthew's earthly remains to the ground, our hearts are lifted by the assurance that his soul is now in the presence of our Lord, where he shall know no sorrow or pain. His life's journey, marked by love, service, and a quiet dignity, remains a guiding light to us all.

Let us pray that Matthew has found eternal peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father. May he rest in the sanctified repose of the righteous, and may the perpetual light of Heaven illuminate his way. Amen.
