I first met Matt when we began our college journey at the University of Denver in 1971. We both lived on the 10th floor of Centennial Hall and quickly became close friends. Like most college kids, we shared plenty of laughs and a little mischief along the way.
Our second year found us back on that same 10th floor, and by the third year, we decided we were "too grown up" for dorm life (or so we thought!) and moved to the Aspen Valley Apartments on the edge of campus-different apartments, but still just a short walk apart.
From those early days on, we never lost touch. We called each other every year on our birthdays and checked in from time to time. I had the honor of being the best man at his wedding, and it´s safe to say I knew him well.
Matt was a true friend, and I will miss him deeply. Farewell, my old friend.

Matt was good friends with my father Guy at Apple Blossom. I have fond memories of sitting in the courtyard on a warm day with my dad and a group of residents singing show tunes along with Matt. Matt loved good food and I enjoyed bringing him my Maryland crabcakes to enjoy. He was a wonderful guy and I´ll miss him.

Although I didn't know Matt long, I enjoyed lively conversations with him and exchanging an occasional french greeting or phrase .. he had a wonderful singing voice and it was a treat to hear him sing here at Harmony at times .. to say Matt was an interesting person is an understatement .. he will be missed
