Matthew Scott Harper

Matthew Scott Harper passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2026 at the age of 42. He fought cancer bravely for a year and half. His tenacious spirit allowed him the ability to create his own successful business: Nextec Integrated Systems alongside co-owner and friend Jacob Anstaett. Matthew Harper was raised in the Catholic Church. He was born to Ruth and Dennis Harper on March 22, 1983, the youngest of five children. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents: Rolla and Gladys Dennis and Floyd Harper. He leaves behind three beautiful daughters Paige, Colleen Belle, and Maggie Harper. He is also survived by his grandmother Sandra Jones his parents Ruth and Dennis Harper,, as well his siblings Carol (Jeff) Houston, Mary Richards Boucher, Sharon (Matthew) Lamparyk, and James Harper. Along with many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Matthew loved music in all forms and went to many concerts of his favorite artists with his children and friends. He was an avid adventurer, loving roadtrips, spending time outdoors, and talking with the people he loved. His favorite book was The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and he will be remembered through the last lines of the book: "And so we beat on, boats against the current, born back ceaselessly into the past." Matthew Harper never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him. The family will be receiving visitors at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home on February the 12th from 3-7pm The funeral Mass will be St. Brigid of Kildare Church on February the 13th starting at 11am. He will placed in eternal rest at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes all contributions to go to the Brian Muha Foundation.
