Our beloved Matthew F. Columbe, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2024 at the age of 41. He was born on March 7, 1983 in Dayton, Ohio to his loving parents, Frank and Jill Columbe. He was an exceptional big brother to Patrick Columbe and a loving father to Jameson Columbe.
Matt graduated from Fairborn High School/Greene County Career Center in 2002. His favorite place of work was at the Dublin Pub in the Oregon District. Between his co-workers and customers, the Dublin Pub was like another family for him.
Matt had a big heart and his kindness to others was infectious. Matt’s greatest achievement in life was being a loving and caring father and thought the world of his son. Matt loved many sports but his passion for bowling was second to none. Matt never feared anyone he was matched up against and loved the challenge to compete against the best. He also loved going out with his brother and friends to play a round of disc golf, especially their Father’s Day tradition of getting all together for a fun and competitive round.
Matt was also an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Cincinnati Bengals, The Ohio State Buckeyes, New York Yankees, and Cincinnati Reds. When his favorite teams were playing, everyone knew who he was cheering for. If yelling through a tv screen could ensure a victory for his teams they for sure would all be undefeated.
Matt’s time with us may have been short but will be remembered by many. To pay respects to Matt and his family, there will be a viewing held on the 9th of July, 2024 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by a short service at, Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, North Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at Poelking Lanes on Wilmington Ave. after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made by planting a tree in Matts memory.
