Father, brother, son and lover of life; Matthew Andrew Meyer shared his big heart and contagious laugh with everyone he met. ‘Matty’ passed away on August 7th, 2024, at the age of 36, remembered by loved ones that continue to honor his life and legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Matthew graduated from Motorcycle Mechanic Institute in Arizona and worked as a mechanic and in construction throughout his life. Matthew loved the adventures of outdoors from hunting, dirt bikes, motorcycles, boating-anything with speed.
Matty’s pride and joy in his life was his family. Playing baseball with his oldest son Kayne, teaching Aiden to learn to love baseball, football and putting Legos together, and dancing with his daughter Myla.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Michael Arthur Meyer of Plato, Missouri and Julie Diane Meyer of Parrish, Florida, his brother Christopher Meyer of Miami, Florida, his wife Shawna Meyer and his two nephews Evan and Wyatt Meyer. His first wife Jessica Meyer of Mountain Grove, mother of Kayne Meyer and his life partner Shannon Kutz, of Plato, Missouri, mother of Aiden Gray and Myla Meyer.
Matthew will be honored with a celebration of life service at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove on Monday, August 12th, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 pm. A graveside funeral service will follow on Tuesday morning, August 13th, at 10:00 am at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Plato, Missouri.
