Matthew Miles Milan

MATTHEW MILES MILAN Matthew "Matt" Miles Milan, age 68, of Cadillac, Michigan, formerly of AuGres, where he lived the majority of his life, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025. Matt was born on March 14, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, to Jack and Ida (Steelman) Milan. He was a man of faith, resilience, and generosity. He had a remarkable athletic ability and was especially known for his exceptional talent as a pitcher, throwing numerous no-hitters. Beyond sports, Matt loved music, guitar sing-alongs, and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Professionally, Matt enjoyed a long career with Michigan Bell and AT&T. He also thrived on helping othersalways willing to lend a hand with odd jobsand he devoted countless hours to reading the Bible and sharing scripture with those in need of encouragement or eager to hear the Word. Matt will be lovingly remembered by his son, Dewey Milan (Alisha); his daughter, Danielle (Gabe) DeShais; and his grandchildren, Ryder, Mavs, and Magnolia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ida Milan; his brothers, Mark and Tom Milan; and his sister, Jennifer Milan. He is also survived by his brothers, Neil Milan and John (Mary) Milan; his sisters, Marsha Milan, Debbie Garvie, and Martha Rader; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many. The family is being served by Buresh Funeral Home in AuGres, Michigan. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral beginning at 12:00 noon, followed by a luncheon at Edmonds AuGres Inn from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and a "cheers" to Matt at the AuGres Anchor Pub.
