Matthew Nothstein Obituary

Matthew P. Nothstein

Matthew P. Nothstein, 54, of Palmerton, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, in the St. Luke's Hospital-Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. He was surrounded by lots of family and friends as he ran into Jesus' arms.

He was the loving husband of Cinda Marie (Sherer) Nothstein. They celebrated 28 wonderful years of marriage together.

Born in Lehighton on Dec. 18, 1969, he was a son of Carol (Stahler) Nothstein and the late Nelson C. Nothstein Sr.

After college, he worked as a CNC technician and a machinist for Blue Ridge Pressure Casting in Lehighton for 33 years.

Matthew enjoyed hunting and loved his cars, especially his favorite, the Chevy Chevelle. He was also a volunteer Little League Baseball coach for his son and daughter's teams and spent countless hours pitching to them in the field at home.

His children, Eric and Kayla, were his world, and he was their biggest cheerleader, supporter and No. 1 fan. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his wife Cinda, and his children, Eric and Kayla, he is survived by two brothers, Nelson C. Nothstein Jr. and Jake Nothstein, and his wife, Kim; a sister, Becky Bortz; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Justin, Mathias, Julia, Alex, Melissa, Cassandra, Kyle and Alicia.
