Matthew Ryan Outman

Matthew Ryan Outman, age 32, passed away from health complications on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Butterworth, Grand Rapids, MI, with his family at his side. Matthew was born on May 24, 1993 in Grand Rapids to David and Thelma (Cataldo) Outman. In 2011 he graduated from West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids. Matthew has resided in Alma the majority of his adult life, where he was currently employed as a meat cutter at Meijer, a job he loved to talk about.
His wit and dry sense of humor almost always shined through. Matthew was very smart, authentic, and unapologetically himself at all times. He had the biggest heart in the world and loved his Detroit sports teams. Matthew was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Moose. He enjoyed reading, golfing, playing video games and fishing.
Matthew was preceded in death by: his beloved grandparents, Doris and Bruce Outman and his father, David Outman.
Reminded that life shouldn't be taken for granted and is way too short are: his mom, Thelma (Mark House) Cataldo; maternal grandmother, Carmela Cataldo; siblings, Michael (Alexandria) Outman and Alexis (Alex) Duffy; his bestie, Natasha Luneack; three nieces, one nephew and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for Matthew will be held at noon on Friday, November 14th at Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Pastor Mike Dunn officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior, 10AM to Noon, at the funeral home. Matthew will be laid to rest, next to his grandparents, at 3:30PM, Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes.
