So saddened to hear of Matt´s passing. We met while he coached alongside my husband back in Fairfield. I loved his wit. I´m heartbroken as this recent move back to be near family sounded like a beautiful, new chapter for their family.

The Liceaga Family holds you in our prayers. (Juan, Melissa, Caellum and Liam)

Jillian and family - Our hearts go out to you. We knew we would be missing you at FEILE and the GAC when you moved home to Indiana. I wish I had gotten to know Matt, but as the dutiful husband and father, he was always filling your shoes at home as you filled our lives with your energy and talents. We wish we could be there with you through this hardest of times. My mother also found herself in your unimaginable situation at age 37 with a young family to raise. She was sustained by her faith and the support of our Church and community. I am sure you will be as well. But please know that you have friends in Connecticut who are here to help in any way we can as well. Our deepest condolences.

When Matt was a student at Purdue, he worked at the Purdue Memorial Union as an omelet chef. The Men of St. Tom's (MoST) learned of this from Matt's father, Leo. MoST engaged Matt to lead the seven omelet chefs at the annual Mother's Day Brunch. Matt was meticulous in instructing the other novice chefs in the fine art of omelet making. MoST hoped that with Matt's family moving back to central Indiana, that he could again be enticed to lead the omelet crew at the Mother's Day Brunches. Now, he will have to guide them from above.

The photos show Matt's omelet crew at the 2002 Mother's Day Brunch, Matt making an omelet for his mom, making an omelet while blindfolded.

Vince and Roxanne Drnevich send their prayers and deepest sympathies to the Plomin family.

One of my first memories of Matt... He was just 2 years old and I said to him: "Matt, I heard you know the Purdue Fight Song!" And he said, "Yes!" (Very clearly) I asked if he´d sing in for me and he did! Word for word, in tune, every word understandable! I was amazed! He was one of the smartest kids I´ve ever known and I loved his wit, always a giggle. My heart is hanging on for all of you, sending you love, light, peace and strength.

Matt was a dear colleague for 15 years and while I directly worked with him from time to time, he had a presence on our platform. Matt was an incredibly thoughtful, bright investor who always challenged folks with asking the right questions. He was certainly unique, one of a kind, respectful, and deeply committed to his work and of course his wonderful family. You will be missed Plomin.

Matt was my son´s college roommate and was truly unique. He flowed through life with aplomb, never settling for limitations. His ability to successfully transition in careers while maintaining his focus on family and faith was a source of wonder. His choice of Jillian was prescient, for he knew that she was the only one who could meet and match with him. Our world is less for his loss, but his family ensures that his unique talents and outlook survive beyond him.

I am so saddened by the news of Matt's untimely passing. Matt was a client of mine for years on Wall Street. He truly embodied hard work, determination and integrity. He often spoke of his family and I enjoyed every story shared. He will be dearly missed both professionally and personally. I pray for your comfort in the days ahead and pray that you are comforted by all the messages of support received. Rest easy my friend.
