Matthew William Riemann (born Matthias Wilhelm Riemann) was born on May 21, 1936 in Breslau Germany and passed away on July 15, 2025 in Raleigh, NC. His parents were Wilhelm Riemann and Charlotte Mylius Riemann. Matthew left Europe, a continent recovering from World War II, at the age of 24 first to Australia and then to New Zealand. He returned for a short time to Germany and was then transferred by Siemens to the USA. Technically inclined, he specialized in the field of X-Ray and due to his knowledge of X-Ray, his managerial skills and mastery of the English language, he was put in charge of establishing the Technical Training Center for Siemens-first in New Jersey and then in Cary, North Carolina.

He was passionate about his family, flying as a private pilot, traveling the world, gardening and his enjoyment of music, especially classical music. He also had a special place in his heart for dogs…and Mercedes Benz diesels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Berbe Wendnagel, and his brother, Karl Riemann. He is survived by his wife, Carole, and his two sons, Christopher (Blanca) and Alex (Maria). He leaves behind five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
