Yankee was born and raised in Baltimore Md to June Willders and Chesley Simmons Jr. Matthew spent many years working in sand blasting and roof painting before moving and settling down in Trenton, GA. For the last 4 years, Matt worked for RCS in Trenton, where he was well known as the prankster. Matt was always known for pranking you and he always had you laughing, even on his worse day!
Matthew leaves behind his son Tyler Simmons, Kendall Simmons and Brandy Catlett. He also leaves behind his sisters Shelly McConnell and Whitney Singelton, along with 3 nieces and 4 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his sister Cheryl Carey who passed in 2005, his father Chesley Simmons who passed in 2016 and his Mother June Willders who passed in 2021.
Private Memorial Service was held on September 22nd.
Arrangements were entrusted to Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
