Matthew Stribling Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, Cemeteries & Crematories on Feb. 10, 2026.
Matthew Thomas Stribling entered eternal rest on January 31, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 36. He was born in Houston, Texas on November 14, 1989 to William C. Stribling and Lucille (Vasquez) Kee.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jose C. and Gloria S. Vasquez; paternal grandparents, Hugh L. and Frances D. Stribling; uncles, Guillermo Farias, Steve Vasquez, T. Wayne Malone, and Wayne Stribling. Matthew is survived by his mother Lucille Kee and her husband, Paul; his father Wm Craig Stribling and his wife, Rosa Castaño; his children, Amadea F. Stribling, Matthew E. Stribling, Benjamin L. Stribling, Seraphina S. Mata, Azalea B. Stribling, and Alekzander D. Stribling; sister, Madelyn S. Blakey and her husband William (Trey); numerous other loving family members and friends.

He briefly attended Holy Cross High School and was a 2008 graduate of Highlands High School where he was a member of the Mighty Owl band. He loved playing sports and was active in several teams including soccer, baseball, basketball, football, tennis, and golf. He was also a strong swimmer and worked for the City of San Antonio as a lifeguard.

Matthew will forever be remembered for the love of his children, family and friends. He loved to grill and hold impromptu get-togethers. Matthew was a quick study, amazing so many of us with his ability to learn and master a variety of job skills which allowed him to advance in those jobs. He also started his own auto-detailing business called Rtime2shine for which he received rave reviews. Most importantly, Matthew was a devout believer. Now that he walks with the Lord and is watching over his loved ones, we also believe he sees the immense love, joy and talent he brought to his family, friends and the world. His light, love, generosity and booming laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family will be receiving guests on Friday, February 20, 2026 beginning at 10:00 A.M. with a memorial service of his life to be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Inurnment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
