Matthew Steven Vogel, age 50, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born to Kyle and Victoria Vogel on July 31st, 1974, in Boynton Beach, FL. Against the odds, he exceeded in life and obstacles. Matthew was one of the first to use the Light Talker Technology to aid handicapped to speak using computers.
He loved the Florida Gators and playing his video games. Most knew Matt by his humor and his love for Dale Earnhardt.
Matt was a long-term resident of Life care of Cleveland where he had many friends that took care of him.
Matt is preceded in death by his father, Kyle Vogel; grandparents on both his mother and father’s sides; Uncle, Mike Steen and several aunts.
He is survived by his mother, Victoria; sisters, Mindy (Robbie) and Jodi (Dakota); nephew, Justin; nieces, Mollie, Robbin, Clover and Ella Jo; great nephews and niece, Stryker, Brody, Axel and Daisy; and uncle, Chip and Aunt Carmen. He is also survived by special friends, John, Jeffrey, Rodney, Robbie and Renee.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends and all who know him.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the medical staff at both Life Care Center of Cleveland and Bradley Medical Center for their love and support over the years and a special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends at Poole-Serenity Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 Noon to 2:00pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
