Matthew David Weiss

Matthew David Weiss (AKA Matty & Uncle Mateo), 39, of Ocala, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Born in Eustis, Florida, he was a lifelong resident of Central Florida. Matt was known as a cat whisperer and made it his life long mission to save as many as possible. He was an excellent chef, loved to build things, and was an ultimate history buff. Matty was a beloved husband, son, brother, cousin, nephew, and uncle.  Matt is survived by his Wife, Robin Coleman Weiss of Ocala, FL; Parents, David and Sandra Weiss of Eustis, FL; Step-Daughter, April Mayhew of Ocala, FL; Sister, Merrisa W. Purvis of Eustis, FL; brother in law Chad Purvis of Eustis, FL, Niece and Nephew, Auna and Alexander Purvis of Eustis, FL; Aunts, Sharon Teston of Mount Dora, FL; Debra Glisson and Jody VanKleef of Pocahontas, IL; Uncles, Randy Weiss, Terry Weiss, Red Glisson,  & Bruce Weiss of Pocahontas, IL; Richard Jurczak of Lakeland, FL; Cousins whom he loved like siblings, Nicole Rowe & Kenny Teston of Mt. Dora, FL; Ilene Greer & Richie Jurczak of Lakeland, FL; Mandy Hustedde, Sarah McArdle, Dennis Glisson, & Briana VanKleef of Pocahontas, IL, numerous extended family in Lakeland, FL Illinois, and by many friends. A Celebration of Matt's Life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Umatilla.
