Mrs. Mattie Bell Gillespie Anderson, age 82. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Mattie Bell was born in Chatham Hill, VA, May 30, 1941, and is of the Christian Faith.
Mattie Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles Early Anderson; her father and mother, Hyter and Bessie Gillespie of Chatham Hill, VA; two brothers, Walter Gillespie and Sam Gillespie; four sisters, Marie Shumate, Bettie Witt, Friel Creech and Pearly Mae Gillespie.
Mattie Bell is survived by her son, Greg E. Anderson and wife Debra of Abingdon, VA; three daughters, Debra Anderson of Abingdon, VA, Linda A. Larkins and husband, G. Robert of Meadowview, VA, Patricia A. Reynolds and husband David of Gray, TN’ seven grandchildren, Matthew Reynolds, Johnathon Widener, Alex Anderson, Chris Anderson, Travis Sullins, Heather Sullins Bartley and Brandon Jenkins and sixteen great grandchildren.
The family requests a visitation at Farris Funeral Service Forest Hills Chapel on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 6:00PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM with Reverend Don Paxton officiating. The interment ceremony will take place in Forest Hills Memory Gardens on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Jerry Eggers officiating.
Pallbearers include her grandchildren and sons-in-law.
