Mattie Lou Robeson

Mattie Lou Jordan Mann Robeson, 97, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was born on November 19, 1928, to Thomas Riley Jordan and Dover Mae Jordan, and lived a life defined by endurance, resolve, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was first married to Joseph "Buddy" Ather Mann, with whom she shared a marriage marked by hard work and a deep dedication to their family and its needs. Together, they raised five children: Joseph "Joe Pat" Patrick Mann, Michael "Mike" Lyle Mann, Stephen "Steve" Jeffery Mann, Randolph "Randy" Jay Mann, and Sandra "Sandy" Gay Rushton. Following Buddy's passing in 1985, Mattie Lou continued forward as the steady foundation of her family, consistently placing their needs and well-being before her own and never wavering in her role.
In August of 2000, she married Alton Fabe Robeson. Though their time together was brief due to his passing in August of 2001, she faced that loss with the same quiet strength and resolve that defined her life.
Mattie Lou was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her siblings: Alpha Rutledge, Odis Jordan, Esther Vaughn, Clifford Jordan, Lonnie Jordan, Roy Lee Jordan, Pete Jordan, and Dollie Simmons.
She is survived by her children, Joe Pat Mann and wife Paulette Mann; Mike Mann and wife Patricia Mann; Steve Mann and wife Beckie Mann; Randy Mann; and Sandy Rushton; her grandchildren, Nicole White, Jennifer Allday, Michelle Bolles, Aaron Burks, Stephen Dillon Watkins Mann, Samantha Mann Evans, Savannah Mann, Susannah Mann, Brittany Waller, Summer Rains, Misty Rushton, Kristy Rushton, and Cassy Ortiz; her great-grandchildren, Abby Allday, Grayson Allday, Natalie Allday, Emily She'a Mathis, Christian White, Cody Bolles, Travis Bolles, Kurtis Ray Mann, Lana Pearl Mann, Madelyn Waller, Katelyn Waller, Mason Waller, Walker Rains, Whitley Rains, Jax Foreman, Harper Raney, Archie Gray Raney, and Gunner Ortiz; and her great-great-grandchildren, Hixton Bolles and Riley Bolles
Mattie Lou will be remembered as fiercely loyal and deeply devoted to her family. She put the needs and desires of those she loved ahead of her own, sacrificing personal comfort without complaint. Unyielding in character and unwavering in commitment, she was the backbone of her family and a foundation through every hardship-a legacy of strength that will endure for generations.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11am at Hawley Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Central Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7pm at North's Funeral Home.
