On April 24, 2025 Maud Dorothy (Lang) Thompson passed away peacefully with her children at her side. Maud was born July 12, 1932 in Bethlehem, NH, daughter of the late Mamie and Andrew Lang. Maud was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Phillip Thompson of 48 years, her sister, Violet Hopkins and son-in-law, Joseph McAlevey.
Maud and Richard raised their family in Bethlehem, NH. She worked many years for the New England Telephone Company, followed by working in the administrative medical field. She enjoyed spending time knitting, crocheting and quilting. Maud and Dick spent many happy hours traveling in classic cars as well as years of boating, water skiing and camping with family and friends. In her retirement years, many volunteer hours were spent at the Littleton Senior Center and for the Littleton Methodist Church.
Remembering Maud fondly are son, Gregory and Shari Thompson, a daughter, Wanda McAlevey and son Alex and Laurie Thompson; eight grandchildren and families, Meghan (Thompson) Stebbins and Jeremy, Andrew Thompson, Peter Thompson, Matthew McAlevey, Chris McAlevey, Cayla McAlevey, Eric Thompson and Emily Thompson; and five greatgrandchildren, Garrett, Madison, Briella, Prudence and Ivee. One sister Lois Charland.
There are no words that can express how grateful the family is for the wonderful care given by the Grafton County Nursing Home in her final years of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Littleton Senior Center or a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 7, 2025, at the Littleton Elks Club from 11-3 with a light lunch
